One of the best things about participating in the CAPA Marquee Awards is the opportunity to participate in professional theatre education activities throughout the year!
Broadway Master Classes
We will be holding FREE master classes for several of the Broadway in Columbus productions this season. All participating CAPA Marquee Awards schools will have the opportunity to sign up students for available slots.
Please note: All Broadway master classes are subject to the tour’s availability and therefore, are subject to change.
MAYBE HAPPY ENDING Master Class!
We are so excited to kick off our CMA Master Class season with the Broaday national tour of Maybe Happy Ending. The master class will take place on Thursday, November 5, 2026 from 4-5:30 pm at the Ohio Theatre.
This will be a Vocal Performance master class taught by a member of the tour!

PREPARATION:
- If you would like to workshop a piece, please prepare and bring a 16-32-bar cut from a song. You must provide you own accompaniment track. (We will provide a speaker and cord for you to use your phone.)

Ohio Theatre, Room 1
REGISTRATION:
- For this class, each 2026-2027 CAPA Marquee School will receive one designated slot, which will be held until Monday, October 19 at 4pm.
- After this period ends, any slots not filled will be open to ANY current high school student (participating schools AND non-participating schools) who resides in any of our eligible CAPA Marquee Awards counties. Those counties include Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Hocking, Knox, Licking, Madison, Perry, Pickaway, Ross, and Union.
- Master class slots are limited and are first-come, first-served.

- Single school spots open: Thursday, October 15 at 4pm
- Additional “free” spots open: Monday, October 19 at 4pm
- Sign-ups close: Wednesday, October 28 at 8pm
REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION:
To participate in this workshop, you MUST submit the online 26-27 CMA Media Release Form and the 26-27 CMA Emergency Medical Form. Both forms must be signed by both you and your parent/guardian. Your registration will not be considered complete until you have signed up for a master class slot and submitted these forms.

Marketing Workshop!
What does it take to fill seats at our beautiful Ohio Theatre?
What is the difference between content creation and Public Relations? How can you film videos to stand out? Learn from our own CAPA digital marketing manager, Abby Valencic, and theatre superfan and WSYX ABC 6 News Anchor Mike McCarthy in this deep dive into marketing for the ARTS.
This workshop will include:
- Content creation inspo
- The key to conducting a good interview
- A basic overview of marketing and communications
If you are considering applying for National Student Reporter, this workshop will be a good crash course to improve your skills. (Note: This is not a required and does not prohibit you from applying for National Student Reporter if you cannot attend.)
IMPORTANT:
- Each 2026-2027 CAPA Marquee School receives one guaranteed slot held for Until Tuesday, October 20 at 4pm!
- After that window, any unclaimed spots open to ALL current high school students in eligible CAPA Marquee Awards counties: Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Hocking, Knox, Licking, Madison, Perry, Pickaway, Ross, and Union.

MARQUEE MIXER!
Join us at the Ohio Theatre and get to know some of your fellow CAPA Marquee Awards participants! Whether you are a new member or a familiar face, this is a perfect way to relax, enjoy good company, and gear into the next incredible season of High School Theatre together! This event includes food, activities, and a raffle for some Broadway swag!
IMPORTANT:
- Slots for this event are ONLY open to High School students from participating 2026-2027 CAPA Marquee Schools.
- There is no limit on the number of students that can register from each school. Slots are limited and are first-come, first-served.
